Business Post Editor to Join Murray as Director

Murray Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Richie Oakley as a Director of its Corporate and Financial Practice. 

Mr Oakley brings over 25 years’ media experience to his new role, most recently as Editor and Chief Content Officer at the Business Post, a role from which he will be stepping down with immediate effect.  

He is a former editor of The Times Ireland edition (2015-2019) and a former News Editor and Section Editor of the Ireland edition of The Sunday Times, where he worked for 15 years. He served as a political reporter for The Sunday Times in Ireland and was also the newspaper’s Motoring Correspondent.  

Prior to joining The Sunday Times, Mr Oakley worked for The Sunday Tribune from 1998 to 2003 covering public affairs, industrial relations and transport. He was also Motoring Correspondent for the newspaper.    

An English and Philosophy graduate of UCD, Mr Oakley joins a number of other senior hires at Murray over the past year including Paul O’Kane, formerly Chief Communications Officer at daa and Business Editor at the Sunday Tribune, and Jo Lonergan, former Special Adviser to the Minister for Health and latterly, the Minister for Further & Higher Education. Ms Lonergan had also previously served as Assistant Government Secretary, occupying senior roles straddling three general elections and under three Taoisigh.
